Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival Jammu – Katra - Vaishno Devi Darshans (55 Km / Approx 02 Hours Drive)

Welcome to Jammu, the winter capital of Indian State Jammu and Kashmir. On Arrival, you will be greeted by Tour My India representative/Driver and transferred to Katra, the base point of Vaishno Devi. Arrive at Katra and check into your hotel. After fresh-n-up and rest, proceed for Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan – one of the most popular pilgrimage of India situated in the lap of Trikuta mountains across Katra town, at an altitude of around 5200 feet.

Yatra involves a trek of nearly 14 Kms from base camp at Katra known as Ban Ganga. Alternate way to perform darshans is by battery operated cars, Ponies/Palkis/ Helicopter. If time permits, visit Ardhkuwari & Bhairo Temple, now you can go by ropeway from Vaishno Devi Bhavan to Bhairon temple.

After visiting the temples, return back to the hotel in Katra and relax for an overnight stay.

Day 2
Katra to Pahalgam (270 km / Approx 07 Hours Drive)

After Breakfast, drive to Pahalgam. Located at 2133 mts, it is also known as ‘The valley of Shepherds’ or ‘Trekker’s Paradise’. Pahalgam is the most famous place for Indian Film Industry. Arrive Pahalgam and transfer to the hotel.

Evening free for leisure. Dinner and Overnight stay in Pahalgam Hotel.

Day 3
Pahalgam Sightseeing and Exploration

After breakfast, start the trip to Chandanwadi. Located on the way to Chandanwari, the valley was named Betaab after the Bollywood movie by the same name! Earlier known as Hajan Valley, after the release of the movie, it was renamed as a major part of the movie was shot here.

Post lunch (on your own) or as time permits, proceed for a trip to Aru Valley (on your own). Aru Valley is a tourist spot 11 km from Pahalgam noted for its scenic meadows and mountains. It is a base camp for trekking to the Kolahoi Glacier and Tarsar Lake. The village lies on the left bank of the Aru river, which is a tributary of the Lidder river.

Day 4
Pahalgam to Srinagar Houseboat (100 Km / Approx. 3½ Hour Drive)

After buffet breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Srinagar. Enroute visit Saffron fields, Awantipur ruins (1100 yrs old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiverma), see the beautiful countryside on the way and lots of rice fields. On arrival at Srinagar, transfer to the Houseboat. After check-in at the houseboat, you can relax for a while. Later in the evening, proceed for a shikara ride in Dal lake.

Day 5
Srinagar City Sightseeing

After breakfast, check out from the houseboat and get transferred to the hotel. After check in, proceed to sightseeing tour of Srinagar. Visit Mughal Gardens, Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure), Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love), The Chasme Shahi Garden & Shankaracharya Temple. Evening is free for shopping.

Day 6
Srinagar – Excursion to Sonmarg (90 Kms / Approx 03 Hours Drive- One Way)

After breakfast at the houseboat/hotel, leave for a day excursion to Sonmarg, which is the most beautiful drive from Srinagar. On the way, you can stop at many beautiful spots. Continue drive to Sonmarg, located at 2,690 Mtrs (Meadow of Gold). One can ride on a horse to visit Thajiwas Glacier (on Pony) where snow remains round the year.

In the evening, return to Srinagar for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7
Srinagar to Gulmarg (60 km / Approx 2-3 Hours Drive)

After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our country tour towards Gulmarg. The drive past colorful villages and rice fields, gives you an insight of the rich cultural past of Kashmir. Gulmarg is one of the most beautiful hill stations in this world and also called Meadow of Flowers. It has the world’s highest golf course (World’s Highest) and is also famous for winter sports like skiing etc. You can enjoy a Gondola ride (Cable car, own cost) from Gulmarg to Khilanmarg.

The 08 minutes of ropeway will take you past colorful shepherd hutments to the lower ridge of the Apharwat Peak. From here, you can click lots of photos of the nearby mountain ranges that stand tall like sentinels guarding the rich natural beauty of Kashmir valley. We descend back to Gulmarg base after an hour.

Day 8
Gulmarg to Srinagar Airport Drop (60 km / Approx 2-3 Hours Drive)

After buffet breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Srinagar Airport to board your flight for the respective hub with memorable experiences of Tour My India.
